War Memorial Project

Welcome to the Blaydon and Winlaton Virtual Memorial.  The Project began on 1 January 2013 to honour all those we lost from our area and is run entirely by volunteers. Much information on the casualties of war is freely available in public records or the internet and the aim of this project is to gather together in one place all the information available on each individual, to honour and preserve the memory of those from Blaydon and Winlaton whom we so sadly lost, giving information on their jobs, homes and the families they left behind.  There are 307 names on the Blaydon Memorial and 107 names at Winlaton. We have also included those not named on either memorial but who are buried at Blaydon and Winlaton cemeteries.

Many thanks to everyone who has helped with this project by sharing their family stories and photographs.

Welcome, then, as you meet those who never came home. As you join us, please remember in your thoughts and prayers those who gave their tomorrow for our today.
